Community and Social Value : Making a Difference in Formby
At web-aviso, we believe that community is at the heart of social value. Our commitment to creating positive change is central to our mission, and we understand that time is the most valuable asset a business can invest in its community. Since relocating our operations to Formby, Liverpool in 2021, we have been dedicated to actively contributing our skills and resources to local social initiatives, particularly within our church parish.
We recognize that while many businesses are aware of their social impact, not enough are taking action. This is why web-aviso is leading by example in the Formby
community. By offering our expert marketing and design services to local businesses and organizations, we aim to foster growth, strengthen the local economy, and create a lasting positive impact. We are committed to being a socially conscious business, proving that even a small company can make a significant difference.
Formby Events : web-aviso commitment to our community
At web-aviso, our journey goes beyond digital marketing; it’s about making a tangible impact in our local community. Based in Formby, Merseyside, we are deeply committed to fostering community spirit and development. Our initiative, Formby Events, grew from this commitment. We saw a need to help local groups and initiatives connect with the community, especially after the challenges of the pandemic.
In 2022, we recognised a need for more community-centric initiatives. In response, we volunteered to help revitalise the traditional local Christmas Fayre—an event that hadn't been held in over 18 years. To ensure its success and support the wider community, we developed a comprehensive digital strategy. We created a dedicated website, Formby Events, to serve as a central hub for promoting the Fayre and other local charitable happenings. This platform is now available to help to publicise community initiatives in Formby - where some proceeds at least go towards a charity or community benefit.
Formby Community Events & Initiatives
Our commitment to Formby has since grown into a series of successful initiatives:
- Formby Christmas Fayre: Following the success of the first event, the Christmas Fayre is now our annual tradition - an event and big prize raffle, to help raise funds for Our Lady of Compassion Church Formby. It is held on the last Saturday of November and the events held have adapted to various changes within the Parish. For example in 2023 and 2024, we expanded the event to include a large artisan craft market (in the former Gild Hall) as well as using the Our Lady of Compasion Parish Prayer Centre. We also designed and printed a range of Christmas cards and diary featuring local art, further supporting the community. We have since produced calendars using submitted local photographs and children's designs.
- Coronation Celebrations: In 2023, we proudly organised three inclusive events, over three days, to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III to bring the community together in celebration.
- May Day Family Fun Day: In 2024, we launched our inaugural annual Early May Bank Holiday Family Fun Day, providing a new tradition in the village, bringing families together for a day of community-focused fun.
We are continually exploring new ideas to support our community. All proceeds from Formby Events are reinvested directly into the Parish and related projects.
